How we got here and why . . .

A trip to Hawaii + the early 90’s + surfers + Velcro straps – rem rem.

Local surfers in Hawaii using colorful Velcro straps to secure their

belongings while conquering the waves inspired us to create the first

rem rem straps – and before long a bold and exciting collection of

watches to match.

The Danish designer Anders Smith created the first watches in the

series ’Don’t consider time…’ combining the concept of time and a

desire to live out every single moment with vivid colors and a strong

sense of dynamics to design time pieces in a quality that could measure

up to an active lifestyle.

rem rem carried the concept of living life to the fullest into the next

series of watches expanding the collection to include Chronographs and

multifunction watches – once again emphasizing the tools necessary to

living in the moment and not wasting time. The series exploded onto the

scene with a campaign titled ’Why kill time…’ making headlines across

the globe with its tough provoking ideas and photographs.

After that experience we slowed down a bit with two series of titanium

watches geared towards more quiet moments – a sleeker, simpler

design and a stronger emphasis on gentle elegance.

A third wave is now rising with a renewed energy and focus on the

more active, challenging and dynamic aspects of life.

With our designers Anders Smith and Jesper K. Thomsen we introduce

’Mutant time’. A range of watches reflecting our desire to step

out of the ordinary, to explore those defining moments of life, when

we decide to take on parallel roles and new identities, where we make

a conscious decision to push ourselves to the limit – all in an effort to

make the most of life.

OCTANE

The oversized 46 mm diameter and 13 mm height case made from satin brushed stainless steel is constructed with a rotating bezel, luminous

hands and chrome indicators as well as screw down case back and crown. The self-winding automatic version comes with a see through case

back. All versions come fully mounted with either our solid stainless steel bracelet and double security safety buckle or the innovative new Velcro

strap with its double butterfly opening and stainless steel mounting pieces. As always rem rem watches are water resistant to 100 meters.

The front glass is made from extra hardened mineral glass. This family consists of 8 members with movements ranging from the standard 3

hands with date Quartz, the dual time-zone Quartz, the self-winding automatic to the Quartz Chronograph. Design: Anders Smith

TAKEO FF

Satin finish 42 mm and 13 mm high stainless steel or rose gold plated case with screwed upper and case back. Luminous hands and markers

on the standard Chronoraph and the moon phase models. The references in the Takeoff collection come with a satin finish solid stainless steel

bracelet with a double security safety buckle or with a croco print Hirsch leather strap. All watches are water resistant to 100 meters and

mounted with an extra hardened mineral glass. The collection comes in four movement versions: the standard 3 hands with date Quartz, the

standard Chronograph Quartz, the professional Chronograph with 1/100 second and the moon phase Quartz. Design: Jesper K. Thomsen

STRATO

The oversized 48 mm diameter and 13 mm high case made from stainless steel is constructed with a rotating inner bezel, luminous hands and

markers as well as a screw down case back and crown. The self-winding automatic version comes with a see through case-back. All versions

come fully mounted with either our solid stainless steel bracelet and double security safety buckle or the innovative new velcro strap with its

double butterfly opening and stainless steel end pieces. As always rem rem watches are water resistant to 100 meters. The front glass is

ANGLER

An oversized 45 mm diameter and 13 mm high stainless steel case with an inner rotating bezel operated by an integrated 9 o’clock crown.

Luminous hands and markers. Screwed-down crowns and screwed case back. All versions come with a solid stainless steel bracelet and double

security safety buckle or the innovative new Velcro strap with its double butterfly opening and stainless steel end pieces. All rem rem

models are water resistant to 100 meters and covered with an extra hardened mineral glass. The Angler collection comes in two movement

versions: the standard 3 hands and date Quartz and the Chronograph Quartz version. Design: Jesper K. Thomsen

JESPER K. THOMSEN

(1971), Joined the rem rem design team in 2006. He is the progressive

force in the creative process. The one who loves to challenge and rethink

tradition.

Soon after his graduation from the Danish Design School in 2000,

Jesper

Thomsen started his own design studio called IDlab. Through,

IDlab, Jesper Thomsen has developed his pofessional company identity.

The code word for IDlab in general is ’teamwork’, and the success

of a development process is closely linked to a partnership between

the designer and the manufacturer. For the rem rem project, the

challenge Jesper Thomsen faced together with the manufacturer, was

to create two powerfull and sturdy models, which would stand up to

just about any activity it’s wearer would dare to engage in.

Apart from his involvement in the rem rem collection, Jesper

Thomsen is the creative designer behind new products from companies

like Spanish Modiss, Swiss Roamer watches, Danish Pressalit

and American DoggieWallet, and even if he is still young in business,

his innovations have already assured him a number of very successful

product lauches and a number of domestic awards.

”Designing watches was already part of my long term vision, when I

started my design studies. But to be given the chance so early in my

professional career has been a great experience but also a serious

challenge, and I have the greatest respect for the hard work Anders

Smith has put into the earlier rem rem collections”.

ANDER S SMITH

(1962), Is the experienced half of the creative design team behind the

new rem rem collection. Known for his people centric process and

methods Anders Smith brings strong analytical and visionary skills

to the brand.

Graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Art in 1988 with a master

degree in industrial design and architecture, Anders Smith spent a number

of years in Denmark supplying itegrated design solutions to a broad

varity of global companies from Coloplast, Novo Nordisk, Texaco, Samsung,

Lego and Danfoss to organizations like The National Museum, the

Danish post and the Danish Ministry Foreign Affairs. To learn and grow as

a designer he left Denmark to join Philips design – a journey which took

him to Holland, Hong Kong, New York and California, where he worked as

a senior design consultant and a design director for various divisions of

the philips corporation.

Over the years Anders Smith has received a number of design awards,

and he has seen his works exhibited nationally as well as internationally.

Based a new in Copenhagen since 2004, Anders Smith today concentrates

most of his efforts on developing people centred innovation and design

solutions for medical and electronic companies. Pursuing a life-long

passion for watches he aims to create elegant and uncompromising time

pieces with lasting quality and style.

”When I create a watch model for rem rem, I start by understanding

the needs and aspirations of the user. As I define it, rem rem

is about dynamic change and constantly challenging expectations and

experiences – be it for altruistic or hedonistic reasons – and about not

settling for less than the goal.”
